Message the final drive ratio is putting the engine into the better parts of its powerband more quickly.

Therefore, what you are seeing is a 50hp increase in *average* power delivered over the course of the run, because of the gear making the engine happier.

So, there is no difference in peak horsepower output at the wheels, but a difference in average output.
